Welcome to OptiQuench

We are a pioneering engineering company specialized in solving distortions in industrial metal production, as well as developing technology to optimize and automate the processes involved.

With our team of engineers and innovative solutions on offer, we help manufacturers tackle the complex challenges of material deformation during the production process, ensuring optimal product quality and reducing costly defects.

By leveraging advanced technologies and tailored strategies, we improve efficiency, precision, and consistency across the metal production line.

At OptiQuench we are committed to improving performance, increasing speed, and delivering measurable results.

Materials analysis

We offer a unique 3-in-1 service comprised of thermomechanical processing, microstructural characterization, and determination of material properties.

Our furnaces can deal with any time vs. temperature profile, with temperatures up to 1,300 °C, with or without carburization.

Our lab also features a universal testing device with integrated oven up to 950 °C that can deal with forces up to 200 kN, whilst maintaining accuracy of up to 0.001 mm.

Why invest in metal distortion solutions?

According to a biennial study carried out in the Benelux, production cost reduction is the main challenge in the metal forming sector. Issues with occurring distortions take up a huge share of the budget, ranging from unnecessary material costs leading to scrap, suboptimal use of machines due to trial and error, and the arduous recruitment of skilled operators.

31%

Production Costs

31% of companies state that reducing production costs is their biggest challenge.

86%

Material Costs

Raw material costs account for 86% of the total costs in the metal forming industry.

40%

Dimensional Issues

Dimensional issues account for 30% to 40% of scrap waste in metal forming.

58.4

Scrap Produced

An average of 58.4 tons of metal scrap is produced per machine per year.

Automated measurement

Customers are becoming ever more demanding and expect suppliers to be able to respond flexibly to changing market demands. This forces companies to change and those who are unable to adapt will lose the battle for the customer.

However, 22% of manufacturing companies state that achieving a shorter lead time is a challenge. 16% say they have issues delivering unique products in smaller series. 13% indicate that digitizing their production process is their main future focus.

Given the current trend towards short-term customization in small series, the only way to future-proof metal forming companies is to focus on faster, accurate and automated measuring systems.

Moreover, maintaining a database of dimensional data during and after the production process allows the company to digitize its manufacturing process (industry 4.0).
